Ever since The Painted Nail (13327 Ventura Blvd., Sherman Oaks, 818-783-2022) set up shop not too far from Tori Spelling's boutique on Ventura Boulevard, the Valley has felt hotter than ever. It helps that the salon, a regular spot for Vanessa Hudgens, is the star of TV Guide's reality show The Nail Files and has a fabulous owner like Katie Cazorla.

When I hit up the party girl for her guide to the Valley, she naturally had some fun spots to share. But first, some tips from Katie for when you visit her local salon: "Rickell does the best blowouts I've ever seen; Stacey does flawless makeup, lashes, and incredible brows; Nichole is amazing for gel manicures, massages, and hands-down the best pedicure ever." When she's not at the salon, the reality star can be spotted at these local spots.

  • Menchie's (13369 Ventura Blvd., Sherman Oaks, 818-788-9900) "Whenever I'm having a bad day, no matter what time it is, Menchie's is there to make me feel better. My favorite combo: cake batter with mochi, crushed Reese's Pieces, marshmallow, and peanut butter sauce.
  • Maria's Kitchen (13353 Ventura Blvd., Sherman Oaks, 818-906-0783)
    "When I start craving my mom's spaghetti sauce or New York pizza, I head on over to Maria's. I love how it makes me feel being in there. My favorite comfort dish is spaghetti and two meatballs, the Italian chopped salad, pizza bread with olive oil and balsamic, and a glass of Merlot.
  • Los Angeles Valley College (5800 Fulton Ave., Valley Glen, 818-947-2600) "The Sunday mornings adult gymnastics is such a great workout with no judgment, no matter what your age or skill level is. Bonus: they have open gym toward the end of class so you can brush up on your beam and trampoline skills."
  • The Chimney Sweep (4354 Woodman Ave., Sherman Oaks, 818-783-3348) "Aka, The Sweep. Free popcorn and spicy nuts, pool, darts, jukebox plus old-school shadiness equals the non-Hollywood bar I love. Stiff drinks, no list, old bartenders, and I can go looking like shizzballs and nobody cares. Party!"
  • Brown Sugar LA "They have seriously the best s'mores, peanut butter, and red velvet cupcakes, plus their brown-butter rice treats are heavenly, and they use farmers market ingredients. They also do whimsical, color-themed candy bars with edible glitter.
