Thompson Beverly Hills (9360 Wilshire Blvd., Beverly Hills, 310-273-1400) was a special spot to be last night for two reasons: first, Beverly Hills legend Fred Hayman and author Rose Apodaca were there signing their book The Extraordinary Difference: The Story of Rodeo Drive, Hollywood Glamour, and the Showman Who Sold It All. What's more, the hotel's new, yet-to-open restaurant Caulfield's hosted the event, so I got a peek at the gorgeous, tropical space.
