Back in March, I had a chat with Cleo chef Daniel Elmaleh and he revealed why he thinks it's been such a hot spot ever since it debuted last September. "The idea behind Cleo was to do something approachable and inexpensive; we are glad celebrities have taken to it," he said. "Having the SBE machine behind us is probably a big part of the attraction." One year later, Cleo (1717 Vine St., 323-962-1711) is still as bustling and celebrating its one-year anniversary with a special 1717 menu this upcoming Sunday. If you've been meaning to try Cleo out, this may be the best time. For $17.17 per person, you get freshly made dips and Laffa breads, a choice of savory kebabs, the world-famous brussels sprouts, and baklava for dessert. Click through for some snaps of the space and special menu items, them make your reservation for this Sunday.
