When I chatted with Rachel Zoe at the Baby2Baby charity event last month, she mentioned her personal manicurist who comes to her house to polish her up. I wanted to know more about the woman who is responsible for making Rachel Zoe's hands and feet look stunning, so I reached out. It turns out Debbie Leavitt has been doing mobile manicure services for about 10 years now. "I've grown up with spas and salons. Some of my friends became massage therapists and cultivated a house-call business, and I thought, how nice to work for yourself. When I was working at Fred Segal Salon in Santa Monica, I started cultivating a house-call clientele," she told me on a recent visit to her pad, where she was polishing up a friend. Of course, Debbie doesn't open up her home to just anyone, but she is willing to go to clients' homes if they're willing to pay the $150 price tag.
