La Seine in Beverly Hills Debuts Omasake Sushi Night
Top Chef's Alex Reznik Debuts Sushi Night at La Seine
Top Chef alum Alex Reznik may be revisiting his Jewish roots at his new gig at La Seine (14 N. La Cienega Blvd., Beverly Hills, 310-358-0922), but he's also about to start exploring Japanese cuisine. Every first Tuesday of the month — tonight is the debut — the Beverly Hills restaurant will be hosting omakase night. The name is fitting; the term means "it's up to you" in Japanese, and chef Reznik will be serving up unique creations of his choice. For $85 per person, 11 guests sitting at the sushi bar will not only get to interact with the chef but also taste his innovative sushi like big eye tuna belly with almond, Brussels sprouts, and Thai chile; and spicy miso tofu with chanterelle mushrooms, salmon ikura, and oba leaf. Sprinkled in with the sushi will be seasonally inspired nonsushi dishes. Make your reservation and trust chef Reznik to fully take care of your palate.
